The only difference is quantity. The DL-PTK7 contains 7 individual tests and the DLPTK24 contains 24 individual tests.

How hard is the test to perform?

These tests are not hard at all to perform. Each kit comes with easy to follow instructions that take a person through each individual step.

LBT-300

What is the LBT-300?

The LBT-300 is a roll of 1.8mil 3” x 300’ Lead Hazard Barrier tape. It is similar to a roll of caution tape, but it has a Lead dust warning on it instead.

What is this primarily used for?

The EPA requires that Lead-Safe containment jobs on the exterior of a building be completely roped off and a warning must be posted. The LBT-300 will do both of those thing for a contractor.

How is the LBT-300 sold?

The LBT-300 is sold as individual rolls.

BT-4-180

What is the BT-4-180?

The BT-4-180 is a roll of blue 4” x 180’ masking tape widely known as painters tape.

What is the clean release time of the BT-4-180?

It has a 14 day clean release time in which it should not harm the surface it is on, but it should be checked periodically and removed sooner if needed.

What purpose will a roll of 4” masking tape serve over a roll of 2”?

When working in a jobsite that requires Lead containment it is hard to tape down slippery poly film with just your average 2” masking tape, so we remedied that problem by coming up with the 4” tape. This way a contractor will have more area to work with and won’t have to use multiple strips saving time.

How is the BT-4-180 sold?

They are sold as individual rolls.

YT-4-90

What is the YT-4-90?

The YT-4-90 is a 9mil 4” x 90’ roll of yellow cloth tape which is similar to duct tape.

What would be the reason for using a 4” wide roll of cloth tape?

One of the main problems contractors are running into while setting up Lead containment is how to attach pieces of thick slippery plastic to each other. By using the 4” wide tape it will cut down on the time it takes to set up a containment area.

Can I use the 4” cloth tape to tape plastic down to carpeting?

We at Protective Products Int. Inc. do not recommend a person do that because of a possible adhesive transfer from the tape. Our recommendation would be to lay a path of our Carpet Protection down along the outer edges of the containment area and then tape the poly film down to the Carpet Protection. This will allow the containment area to stay in place much better and get rid of that potential adhesive transfer.

How are the rolls of YT-4-90 sold?

They are sold individually.

P6-11-50

What is the P6-11-50?

This product is a roll of 11’ x 50’ 6mil poly film which can be used for lead containment and many other purposes.

Do I need to use a 6mil poly film for Lead containment?

No not necessarily, but that is the thickness that is being recommended by the EPA and many Lead containment training schools.
